New Horizons magazine of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church has a special issue on Worship in its June 2009 edition. Here are some of the articles:
- Reverence or Joy in Worship?
by Larry E. Wilson - The Beginning and the End of Worship
by Steven F. Miller - The Reading of Scripture in Worship
by William B. Kessler - Recovering Preachers and Preaching
by Alan D. Strange - The Sacraments as Visible Words
by J. V. Fesko
And below is an excerpt from the last article:
That the sacraments are sacred signs and seals of the covenant of grace and are the visible word of God tells us that they play a vital role as an element of worship. The central element of Reformed worship, evidenced by the central placement of the pulpit in Reformed churches, is the reading, but especially the preaching, of the Word of God (Larger Catechism, 155).
Good, easy reading for all, especially for those who are curious why Reformed churches worship the way they do.

Kuya Nollie, I stopped receiving New Horizon magazine after seminary. Thanks for posting this in here. I like many of the articles in the New Horizon. Rev. Alan Strange, who regularly writes in this magazine, was my Church History and Apologetics professor. He’s a very good preacher, too.
